If I’m going to be taking photographs of your incredible day, it’s only fair that you get to know a bit about me first. Of course, we’ll have a chance to get to know each other a little before the big day (your booking includes a pre-wedding consultation, either by Skype or in person), but here’s a little bit of info about me that you might like to know before all that…
I established my natural wedding photography business, Zen Photo, in 2009 after a 12 year career in TV production. I can honestly say I genuinely love what I do – sometimes I have to pinch myself to believe that this perfect ‘job’ is mine! I’m creative, social & organised – three traits that definitely come in handy when you photograph weddings for a living. I’ve been married to James, who I met at uni, for 12 years, & we have two brilliant children, Olivia & Brandon.
As well as my husband & children, here’s some stuff I love: live music, camping in the sunshine, the ocean, learning, deep & meaningful conversations, travelling, NYC, champagne, being kind & (of course) weddings!
Yep, weddings are my thing - which is a good job really! Every couple & every celebration is unique; it’s one of the best things about what I do. I adore the outfits, the flowers, the pure joy of it all. Church ceremonies are among my favourites, as are weddings at National Trust properties & those overseas. Basically, wherever they are, weddings are awesome & I heart taking pictures of them.
Your wedding day should be all about you. While I get involved during the group shots & your bridal portraits as a newly married couple, on the whole I tend to blend into the background on your big day, allowing you to focus on the task in hand, whilst I capture it all on camera. From the moment we have that first consultation to the day your luxurious wedding album is printed & bound, we’ll build up a great rapport. I tend to leave weddings feeling like I’ve made a set of brilliant new friends, with hugs & kisses all round.
So yes, I've got the creativity & technical prowess of an experienced wedding photographer, & the organisational skills of a seasoned TV producer & mum, but I'm also caring, compassionate & warm. I want you to feel completely relaxed & confident about your wedding day photography.
From 2017, I’m hoping to photograph more weddings in far flung locations, so if you are getting married abroad, drop me a line or give me a call to discuss the details. I’d love to capture couples getting wed in Italy, Iceland, Ibiza – & lots of other places that don’t begin with an I! My wanderlust is pretty much insatiable, & I love to combine it with my work to take beautiful pictures of unforgettable destination weddings.
